This is my 4th open-source ERP package that I install, and they all promote their commercial editions. That is how they get the needed funds, I guess....

The cost of commercial "open-source" ERP software, especially for manufacturing companies, is prtetty much the same as regular commercial ERP packages. In that case I would go commercial non-open-source, because of the thousands of users and large (public) organizations behind it.

By the way, the Openbravo registration wizard is annoying! BUT under "compare versions" there is a direct link to the Sourceforge server...

I just tried to download OpenBravo from their website and got 20 questions about what I'm using it for and then the dreaded registration. Puhleeese!

It may be time to revisit this install series. I have tried to install the latest versions of vTiger and OpenERP on Ubuntu 8.04 the past few days with a much harder install process than for the earlier versions, and finally gave up on both, couldn't get to work. I hope OpenBravo is still just as easy as it was in this review.
